I thought that after a couple of days that our two-day Design Workshop would fall under the category of "something-we-did-last-week," but I was wrong. It is still one of the most amazing and empowering experiences I have had as the Director of Louisburg Library.
The Building Committee spent a lot of time and energy in choosing an architectural firm to recommend to the Board of Trustees. Both made an excellent decision in selecting Treanor Architects. The Team spent hours listening and trying to understand our needs as a district so they could help us design a new facility that will work for us.
Last Wednesday and Thursday we had the unique opportunity to be a part of that process--to watch them create ideas and respond to our reactions. Although it felt like we had a design when the Team left, we are still in the early stages of design with a lot of time left for input and making changes.
Did I mention that more than 65 patrons signed the attendance register? We are incredibly pleased with the public involvement and we hope it will continue.
If you missed the Design Workshop, don't worry. We have several of the rough sketches posted in the Conference Room, so that you can watch the evolution of your library--and continue to participate!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your energy, enthusiasm and effort!
